Job Summary/Description:

KCRG-TV9 is seeking an Investigative Producer to help lead investigative reporting within the newsroom and special project productions in news coverage. Investigative journalism is a key pillar of our brand and journalistic efforts, so this position will play a key role in pushing a day-to-day investigative mindset, field-producing investigative reports, assisting reporters in cultivating and developing award-winning investigative stories, and leading in-depth news specials and documentaries throughout the year.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to:

• Plan and research investigative stories for newscasts and digital platforms.

• Assist reporters with Freedom of Information Requests and data gathering and analyzing for stories.

• Guide reporters in putting together investigative reports.

• Assist reporters and staff in day-to-day research to add depth and context to daily news stories.

• Plan and coordinate special productions around news topics.

• Potential to present content on-camera based on the skills and comfort of the individual hired.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or another related field.

• Experience in investigative/enterprise producing, reporting, or writing in local television newsrooms.

• Strong organizational, communication and people skills are required.

• Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to schedule changes.
