We produce 6 hours of news each day, support a robust social media and digital platform, and carry 100 live sports and community events a year with our live production unit. Job Summary/Description: KCRG-TV9, the #1 news station covering Eastern Iowa, is looking for a newscast producer to develop and shape news coverage. This position is based in journalism and content creation and will grow your writing, research and news editorial skills as well as your organizational and planning capabilities. Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Manage completion and execution of newscast. • Gather information from sources for use in newscasts. • Write copy for TV and digital platforms. • Coordinate production elements to showcase news content. • Find and build video and graphical elements for use in newscasts. • Work with reporting crews on format and style of news story presentation. Qualifications/Requirements: • Degree in journalism, communications or related field. • Previous experience in a newsroom a plus. • Proven skills in news judgment and news writing. • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
