WHO-AM/iHeart Media Des Moines has been nominated for a 2015 NAB Marconi Radio Award, in the Medium Market Station of the Year category. The Marconi is one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. Winners will be announced on October 1 at the NAB Radio Awards Dinner and Show in Atlanta.

The Radio Music Licensing Committee has reached a settlement with SESAC ending almost three years of antitrust litigation brought by RMLC against the Performance Rights Organization (PRO). The settlement represents the first time in SESAC’s 85-year history with radio broadcasters that the PRO’s licensing fees will be subject to determination by a third-party arbitration panel.
Members of the Iowa Broadcasters Association have been invited to join members of the Iowa Newspaper Association (INA) for a day of golf on August 14th at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny. For the past several years the INA Foundation has been holding this golf event and this year they have invited IBA radio/TV members to join them … helping to expand the impact and promote an atmosphere of goodhearted competition.
