We are only a few months away from the Iowa Broadcasters State Convention, June 22. As in year’s past, this year’s convention will be at the Marriott in West Des Moines.
One of the highlights of the convention every year is the honor of recognizing Iowa broadcasters who make a difference – a big difference. There are so many great stories of leadership, integrity, reliability, service over self, team building and mentoring across this great state. Local broadcasters truly make a huge difference in the lives of our listeners and viewers and we want to share the stories of the individuals who stand out in your organization.
Each year we recognize those individuals deserving of induction into the IBA Hall of fame. This is a special group of people who have led their organizations and their communities leaving a legacy of impact behind.
We also award our IBA “Broadcaster of the Year.” This is a noteworthy honor as we recognize Iowa broadcasters in on-air or leadership roles who have made an impact on their community through their work. As we know, broadcasting is a noble profession. Our listeners and viewers rely on us for news, entertainment, live sports, and weather information. We are there for them during the storms of life – literally and metaphorically. This is a great opportunity to recognize a colleague you think best exemplifies this service.
Please make sure you consider anyone who stands out and submit your nomination following the guidance provided.
The 2017 IBA Awards Nomination material links are below. As this year’s Awards Chair, I am asking for your help in publicizing this information. Please hang up the attached 2017 IBA AWARDS POSTER at your station(s) and encourage your employees to participate in the process.
Thank you for your service and for your help with this important event.
